Update lost count +4

Yup sorry for not doing anything I've been busy. Working, Playing Metroid Prime Hunters (I will get the Master hunter rank, despite you disconnecting scum and hackers), writing and keeping up with my regulars.

So Sonic's 15th Birthday was ages ago right...Well many are still celebrating. Sonic is such a huge character that has been a big part of lives around the world. He may be fictional but he's made more of an impact that most people. Hence why his 15th Birthday needs a whole summer dedicated to it (at the very least).

So if you love Sonic almost as much as me (it is impossible to love Sonic as much or more than me and you know it!) you have no excuses not to check out www.summerofsonic.com.

Who knows you may find some stuff done by yours truely. And if you check out the cards I'm number 51. That lucky bastard Kidderz* got number 23, next to Airlight (Sonic Art God). 23 being of course the date of Sonic's birthday in June. (*I'm just Jealous really).

Right as for my fics well my focus is Sonic Adventure waves of chaos for obvious reasons. My two Three Shadows fics will continue once that has finished.

I am also planning a site revamp, some way of intergrating all my ART, FICS and BLOG into one.

No art projects planned at the moment. Well there is one I suppose but it's just a thought in my head right now. Needs to be done soon.

I'll leave you with this awesome result from a blogthings test. So true...

What went wrong this time...

England crashed out of the World Cup to Portugal, yet again on penalties.

We didn't deserve it. We have a very strong team of world class players. Anyone who says otherwise should look at the premiership, or at least compare to the other nations.

There has been a mixed response, though here are the reasons I think it all went wrong for us:

1. Squad selection:

Sven's biggest mistake was not taking enough strikers. We had two that were injured, one that can't play on his own and another that hasn't even played in the top flight yet. Rooney making it was awesome, though as soon as Owen injured himself it was all over.

We played a lot with one up front. Rooney can do this but he is the only one who could, bar perhaps Walcott who didn't even play so I don't really know. However having someone alongside Rooney would've worked so much better, yet we stuck with 4-5-1.

When we lost Rooney we lost the competition. Crouch is USELESS on his own, he feeds other strikers that's his best position.

2. Formation:

It is important to remember that we aren't the only one who did this, in fact most nations did it this time leading to one of the least scoring tournaments ever. Though our formation was far too negative.

The back was sorted. Terry, Ferdinand, A. Cole and G. Neville. Solid as a rock, and with Carragher and Campell on the subs bench Defense really wasn't an issue.

So why play negatively. Why not have a 4-3-3 or a 4-4-2? Increase your attacking options. One player is NEVER enough and we payed the price by not being able to score.

Our Negative Formation, led to Negative Football, which led to poor performances. Well in a way. We remained unbeaten, only being knocked out by Penalties.

3. Lampard, Gerrard and the rest of midfield:

What the fuck happened to frank? Was the heat too much for him? He had loads of shots and they all missed. This is the same man that scored goal after goal for Chelsea last season from a similar range. Should've been dropped leaving Gerrard, and even then Gerrard could've done better. They are both playmakers, both superb players but one had to be dropped.

As such we played both but still need a holding midfielder. Add to that the two wingers who no-one could argue with and that's the 5 in midfield. But it got us nowhere. Lampard should've been dropped.

As for beckham, Lennon should've replaced him. Becks should've been right back for Neville was out. His crosses are superb but we relied too much on them. Lennon had pace and could challenge defenders. Beckham never did.

J. Cole was outstanding as was Hargreaves surprisingly. He really fought to prove something and kept Carrick out of it. Well Done.

4. The ref & Ronaldo:

Yeah I know what you're thinking, excuses excuses. But what the fuck was the deal with FIFA appointing an argentine ref for an England game. Madness. Rooney did not deserve to be sent off. A Booking at most he just lost his footing from the two fouls on him. You watch that again and tell me that is clearly intentional, he's not even looking at the player for gods sake.

And then there's that twat Ronaldo. I can't believe he did that to Rooney. His own fucking team mate got him sent off. Ronaldo is going to suffer when he gets back to England, even Man Utd fans will Boo him. I know, I am a united fan and I'm fucking mad at him.

and finally 5. The Dreaded Penalties:

I hate Penalties. I've seen deserved teams lose time after time on penalties. Man Utd in the FA Cup Final 2 seasons ago. AC Milan in the Champions league that very season. West Ham in the FA Cup this season and England countless times.

They are completely luck based and for some reason we always miss. It's a curse. As soon as it went into Extra Time you knew penalties and it was all over. They are just a quick way to settle a match that never reflect the full game.

Oh well there's always Euro 2008. With fit strikers we should walk it really, but you just know we'll lose on penalties in the fucking quarter finals.
