Some thoughts

Today I got the Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog (360) official soundtracks. These aren't on cdjapan.co.jp for some reason and so I feel let down by a usually quality game soundtrack provider. Several Wills is though and I suggest you all get it as the three extra tracks are SO worth it.

I noticed that we got Shadow the Hedgehog (Which is the hero of the past), Sonic Riders (a game in between) and Sonic the Hedgehog (which is the hero of the present, could've been called anything but they chose that name), with Sonic and the Secret Rings to come (a game in between).

Do you think the next Sonic game will be Silver the Hedgehog (which is the hero of the future)? Might be interesting to see Silver in a standalone game actually.

Anyway enough speculation time for a rant.

This one is at the BBC.

What tight fisted, money hungry company they are. Seriously. If you want to watch TV in the UK you must pay for a TV license where it all goes to the BBC more or less. Even if you don't care about the BBC channels you still have to pay.

Which is rip off number 1.

Now they used to be great but now if it isn't a documentary it's usually some boring talent show with quid a time voting phone lines, which are usually fixed anyway. Get some nobodies or "Celebrity" Nobodies, pick a low cost venue, charge a fairly high price for each vote in a voting competition = easy revenue.

Which is rip off number 2.

Heaven forbid they might actually make a quality show these days. Oh wait they did, the revival of Doctor who is excellent. BUT HOW THE FUCK CAN THEY JUSTIFY PRICING THE SEASON BOXSETS AT £70!!!

Are the disks made of gold or something? This is Rip off number 3.

Look shows like 24 and Lost all feature hour long episodes, much like Doctor Who (well roughly, this includes ad breaks), 20 odd episodes a time and barely RRP at £50. Usually £30.

So why is a season of 13 episodes £70. I would've definately bought them at £30, maybe stretching to £40. But £70 each, is the BBC that desperate for money! I can get a 360 game and a last gen game for that amount of money (with deals I can get even more), which would last much longer. Even sites like Play.com and Amazon.co.uk can only offer them at £55 which is still way too much.

What the fuck do they do with the money they make from rip offs number 1 & 2. Certainly isn't spent on making a quality scripted show. It's all documentaries, Dance shows and Eastenders.

Mind you the BBC aren't to blame for the serious decline in television. There used to be a time when going out on a saturday meant giving up on several quality TV shows that you would still at least tape if you had to miss. Now though...There's rarely anything on ALL channels worth watching

I just really want to add the first two seasons of the new Doctor Who to my collection but it's just too much. That much for both maybe, but each...Rip off.
